Jed Aicher
About Jed
I'm a classically trained actor and singer with a resonant baritone voice. I have narrated over 50 audiobooks, mostly for the National Library Service for the Blind and Print Disabled. My favorite stage roles include Mitch in A Streetcar Named Desire, and Lennie in Of Mice and Men, for which I was nominated for a Connecticut Broadway World Award. My intense curiosity about the world (and my ADHD) have led me down many different paths. Because I love to help people tell their own stories, I have taught acting classes everywhere from nursing homes to a medium security prison (with Rehabilitation for the Arts). My life experience and time onstage help me bring authenticity and intensity to the books I narrate. I love learning and speaking accents of any kind, and I have a special affinity for those from the UK and Ireland. I have a passion for tough characters, traveling, dogs, and mezcal, not necessarily in that order.
I am most happy hopping between genres and encountering new facts and characters (there's that ADHD again!) but mysteries and nonfiction books are an especially good fit for me.
